PHILADELPHIA — Nearly every pitch thrown by right-hander Hunter Harvey on Sunday hit a sweet spot.
The Philadelphia Phillies nipped the Washington Nationals 7-5 but Harvey was on in his 29th appearance of the season and 55th in the major leagues.
The fourth of six pitchers used by the Nats, he worked two inning and gave up three hits, one run (earned) with no walks and two strikeouts before 23, 802 in Philadelphia.

Harvey — a high school star at Bandys — threw strikes on 31 of 39 pitches to nine batters, leaving with a 1-0 record with an ERA of 2.79 this season. He has pitched 29 innings and struck out 34.
The Nats (49-92) are off Monday and then begin a home series against the Baltimore Orioles, the team that drafted Harvey in the first round in 2013. He was waived by the Orioles after last season ended, picked up and then waived by the San Francisco Giants, then grabbed off waivers by Washington.
He has pitched 52 2/3 innings in his career with 57 strikeouts and a record of 2-2 and ERA of 3.08.
After Baltimore visits D.C. for games on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Nats are off on Thursday and face the Florida Marlins in D.C. on Friday through Sunday.
The Nats play at the Atlanta Braves on Sept. 19-21, a night game that Monday and Tuesday with 7:20 p.m. starts and a 12:20 p.m. game on Sept. 21.
