Newton-Conover High has swept all three major awards in South Fork 2A boys soccer.
In voting by league coaches, the Red Devils – who won a state 2A title by beating First Flight last Saturday in Raleigh – produced the conference’s top two players and its top coach.
Francisco Tapia of Newton-Conover won Offensive Player of the Year and teammate Xavier Tapia won Defensive Player of the Year.
The Coach of the Year award went to Newton-Conover’s Angelo Palozzi after he guided the Red Devils to an unbeaten conference record (14-0) and an unbeaten overall record (27-0-2).
