HICKORY — A key Northwestern 3A-4A boys’ soccer match — Watauga at Hickory — has been postponed from Wednesday to Thursday by a wet field.
The Pioneers are 6-1-0 in the conference and one match up on Hickory (5-2-0). South Caldwell (5-2-0) entered Tuesday’s match at home against McDowell tied for second with HHS.
Watauga’s only league loss came in a shootout with St. Stephens. The Pioneers beat Hickory 2-1 earlier this season and South Caldwell edged Hickory 3-2.
South Caldwell’s conference losses are 3-1 at Watauga and 3-2 in Hudson against Watauga.
