HIGH SCHOOL BOYS SOCCER PLAYOFFS: Hickory home, plays fourth round match Wednesday night

HICKORY — Hickory High announced Tuesday its fourth-round boys’ state 3A playoff match at home against Central Academy will be played Wednesday night.
The third-seeded Red Tornadoes (20-3-1) will battle No. 7 seed Central Academy of Monroe (16-6-3) at 6 p.m.
Admission is $7 and overflow parking will be used in the front school lot.
Gates open on Wednesday at 4:45 p.m.
The match winner advances to the West 3A championship match on Tuesday against the winner of No. 16 East Lincoln (14-8-2)  and No. 5 Concord (23-2-1), who play Thursday in Concord.
Hickory is the highest seed still playing in the West 3A bracket.
In the East 3A, it is No. 21 Western Alamance at No. 1 First Flight and No. 6 Lee County at No. 2 Croatan in fourth-round matches.
