HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Bandys starts 2-0 with shutout win over E. Burke

Sophomore Macauley Bulen scored twice and Bandys High did all of its scoring in the first half on Thursday night in a 5-0 victory over visiting East Burke.

The Trojans are off to a 2-0 start and have another match against the Cavs on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

East Burke 3, South Caldwell 0: At South Caldwell, the Cavs won 25-12, 25-11, 25-15 in a non-conference match.

Riley Haas and Erica Clontz each had five kills for East Burke. Lindsey Cates added 14 digs, Anna Suddreth had eight and Hannah Bush contributed six for the Cavs.

East Burke meets rival Freedom in a non-conference match on Monday at 6 p.m. at Freedom.

St. Stephens 3, Bunker Hill 0: Sam Wilson’s 33 assists and 11 kills by Sydney Otterberg sparked the Indians’ home victory, 25-19, 25-14, 25-14.

Rebecca Kirkland added nine kills and Madi Bolick had six for St. Stephens.

The Indians play a non-league match on Monday at 6 p.m. at Draughn.
