HICKORY – Hickory High’s Anna McDonald had the only round under 40 on Tuesday, leading the Red Tornadoes to a Northwestern 3A-4A girls’ golf win at Lake Hickory Country Club.
McDonald shot 34 over nine holes and teammate Samantha Harrington’s 44 was the next best individual score as Hickory shot a 135 and edged second-place Freedom by 21 strokes.
Albany Bock’s 45 led Freedom and McDowell was third at 165 behind a 45 by Tyler Price.
