Notes: Freedom meets top-seeded Watauga at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at Freedom for the conference tournament title and the winner gets the league’s No. 1 3A playoff seed and the loser is the No. 2 seed … The Patriots and Pioneers split in the regular season, Watauga winning 52-44 in Boone and Freedom winning 61-59 in overtime in Morganton … Freedom has beaten McDowell three times this season, by six points, 10 points and 16 points… The Patriots have won 20 or more games in 10 straight seasons and they are 82-6 in their last 88 games.
