GIRLS BASKETBALL: E. Burke, E. Lincoln stars earn first-team All-District 10

The North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association (NCBCA) All-District 10 girls’ team first-team selections include top stars from East Lincoln and East Burke.

Destiny Johnson of East Lincoln and Josie Hise of East Burke join Ashbrook teammates Evonna McGill and Trinity Jones and Kings Mountain’s Hannah Clark on the first-team, as voted on by coaches in the NCBCA.

Players whose coaches are not NCBCA members are not eligible to be picked.

McGill won the District 10 Player of the Year award while her head coach, Juan Smith, was named the coach of the year for the district.

The second-team picks included Katie Biach of Lincoln Charter and Grace Herman of Maiden.

On the third-team are Blaikley Crooks of Freedom and Riley Haas of East Burke.

Second-team: Osha Makerson, Jr., E. Rutherford; Summer Scholoss, Jr., Ashbrook; Katie Baich, Sr., Lincoln Charter; Aliyah Whiteside, Sr., R-S Central; Grace Herman, Sr., Maiden; L’Mai Littlejohn, Jr., Shelby.

Third-team: Blaikley Crooks, Soph., Freedom; Natica Falls, Jr., Hunter Huss; Kendra Ross, Sr., E. Rutherford; Riley Haas, Soph., E. Burke.
