Notes: Hickory is 6-0 at home this season … The Red Tornadoes shot 45.5 percent and the Cougars shot 27.3, including 20 percent in the second half … Alexander Central won the boards by five, led by nine from Nikki Haggy, and Darden had seven to lead Hickory … The Cougars were eight of 15 of free throws to the Red Tornadoes’ 10 of 36… Hickory had 20 assists, topped by six from Knox, and had 38 steals (11 by Knox) … The Red Tornadoes outscored the Cougars 52-16 in the paint, 41-8 off turnovers and 28-4 on fastbreaks… Hickory never trailed.
