Notes: Hickory shot 56.4 percent, including 60 percent in the first half, and Alexander Central shot 37.1 … The Red Tornadoes won the boards by 11 with Nkosi Abernathy leading with seven rebounds … There were only 13 free throws in the game — Alexander Central going 5-of-7 and Hickory going 2-of-6 … Young made seven of his 10 field goals attempts and hit six of nine 3-pointers for Hickory … Lucas Walker and Zach Wooten each hit two 3-points for the Cougars (4-for-17 from behind the arc) … Hickory hit 12 of 24 on 3-point shots with Davis Amos going 3-for-3 and Dallas Culbreath going 2-for-2 … The Red Tornadoes never trailed and they were up by 27 points with nearly seven minutes to play… Hickory is 125-31 under head coach Andy Poplin, in his sixth season at HHS.
