In the previous 18 high school football seasons, nine receivers posted 1,000-yard years, led by Petey McClain of Maiden with 1,449 yards in 2005.
The top seasons over that period were from Bandys in five seasons, Maiden twice and one each from Fred T. Foard and one from Newton-Conover.
In addition to McClain’s 1,449 yards, top top single-season marks in those 18 seasons are 81 catches in 2015 by Alex Johnson of Newton-Conover and 18 scoring catches in 2002 by Justin Harper of Bandys.
