Nick Bazzle talks with one of his North Lincoln High players during workouts this week at the school. Bazzle grew up in Pumpkin Center — playing his prep football at East Lincoln (North Lincoln was not opened yet) — and is back on the sidelines in his native Lincoln County as the Knights’ new head football coach. He has been away from football for two years after retiring at Alexander Central and also previously coached at Newton-Conover and won a state title there. The Knights’ debut on Aug. 17 at home, facing Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy.
