Down by six points, Lincolnton tied it at 20 when McClain threw a 6-yard TD pass to Skylar Evans and, after forcing a punt, drove 98 yards for a go-ahead score.

Lincolnton took the lead when McClain found Tyreke Hollis for a 27-yard scoring throw, and the Wolves added at two-point conversion on a pass from Hollis to McClain.

A big defensive play helped Lincolnton win. After that go-ahead TD, the Rebels (3-5, 1-3) had a chance to tie but the Wolves forced a fumble and recovered with about two minutes to play.

Hollis then broke a run for 21 yards to ahead to the Wolves’ lead.

McClain had nearly 190 yards passing and two TDs and Harris ran for about 95 yards to lead Lincolnton’s offense.

Nakathon Phansook, whose TD run in the third quarter helped the Rebels lead 20-14, ran for 109 yards and Xander Pendergrass also rushed for a TD for West Lincoln.

Phansook is closing in on 1,000 yards rushing for the season.

Lincolnton is at home next Friday night for a league game, facing Lake Norman Charter at 7:30 p.m.

The Rebels have a conference game next Friday, also at 7:30 p.m., at Bandys.
