LINCOLNTON – Tyshawn Harris hit Bandys with a little bit of everything on Friday night – scoring on a fumble return, rushing for nearly 200 yards and intercepting two passes – as Lincolnton High beat the visiting Trojans 42-21.

Harris got the Wolves (2-5, 1-2 South Fork 2A) started by stripping the ball away from Ethan Howard in the game’s first minute and going 39 yards for a score. He had an 87-yard TD run and rushed 19 times for 192 yards.

Bandys (2-5, 1-2) was within 15-14 at one point before the Wolves scored 27 unanswered points to beat the Trojans for the fifth straight time.

Quarterback Terrell McClain added 156 yards passing and three TDs and also scored on a 1-yard run. He hit Tyreke Hollis for scores of 17 and 40 yards, and Hollis finished with nine catches for 137 yards.

Lake Hojnacki got into the lineup for the first time this season for Bandys and threw a 74-yard scoring pass to Ja’Tay Culliver. He completed four of nine passes for 103 yards.

A 34-yard TD run by Coby Morgan pulled the Trojans within 15-14 at the end of the first quarter.

Hojnacki had not played this season because of a broken collarbone, and Culliver didn’t play the week before because of a concussion.

Howard ran 14 times for 79 yards, pushing his unofficial season total to 874, and the Trojans gained 220 rushing yards and 328 overall to the Wolves’ 368 yards.

Jason Early had 12 tackles to lead the Trojans’ defense and Jacob Ellis had four tackles and an interception.

Lincolnton, now 27-10 under head coach Ledford Gibson in his third season, travels to play county rival West Lincoln next Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Bandys will also play in Lincoln County next Friday, going to East Lincoln for a 7;30 p.m. start.
