x–see note
Note: Conference games not played are McDowell at Hickory and Watauga at South Caldwell on Feb. 26 and South Caldwell on Freedom on March 19. They are unlikely to be made up… the 3A team and a 4A team with the best record reach the state playoffs… based on current standings with games left (and unless any missed game are reset), Watauga has clinched the league title and No. 1 state 3A seed and South Caldwell would get the No. 1 4A bid because with only one conference game to go McDowell already has three conference losses. But once the regular-season is completed, the conference can determine how to seed its teams since some schools may have completed a full six-game league schedule and others may not have.
Friday’s games
McDowell at Freedom, 7 p.m.
St. Stephens at Hickory, 7 p.m.
