HIGHLIGHTS FROM SEPT. 12 GAMES

Bandys 30, Bunker Hill 14

The Trojans (3-0) remained unbeaten with a road victory over the Bears (0-2-1).

Bandys led 14-0 at the half but the game was tied at 14 going into the fourth quarter.

Elijah Boston led Bunker Hill’s rushing with four carries for 36 yards and the Bears gained 72 on the ground. He had a team-high eight catches for 122 yards and one TD as the Bears threw for 178 yards.

Brad Speaks completed 12 of 19 passes for 185 yards and a TD for Bunker Hill.

Down by two TDs, the Bears scored in the third quarter on a 48-yard fumble return by Justin Klllian.

Speaks threw a 42-yard pass to Boston for a TD and hit Killian on a two-point conversion pass.

Maiden 26, St. Stephens 20

The Blue Devils improved to 3-0 with a road victory over the Indians (0-1-1).

Freshman tight end Noah Gsheidmeier opened the game’s scoring with a TD catch for St. Stephens.

Sophomore running backs Evan Trossi (55 yards) and Tony Rangel (45 yards) added rushing scores for the Indians.

Chance Wilson and Peyton Young, freshmen quarterbacks for St. Stephens went six of 18 with freshman Michael Watkins and sophomore Qurrin Ranner each having 27 yards of catches.

On defense, the Indians Chip Hendren and Rangel were the leaders with five tackles and an assist each.

West Lincoln 44, Draughn 0

The Rebels improved to 3-0 and remain unscored upon as they won on the road.

Mason Avery ran nine times for 172 yards and scored a rushing TD and added a kickoff return for a TD to spark West Lincoln.

Charles Winnex and Trent Goins added a rushing TD each and each ran for a two-point conversion while Nathan Rye ran for two TDs for the Rebels.

Rye had nine carries for 101 yards and Winnex had 44 yards on seven carries.

Avery had seven tackles on defense for the Rebels, six of them for lost yardage, and Chi Chi Phansook intercepted a pass.

West Lincoln won its opener 20-0 over Lake Norman Charter in a non-league game on Aug. 29 and moved to 2-0 with a forfeit over Cherryville on Sept. 5.
