DURHAM – Wake Forest, the East No. 1 seed, completed an unbeaten season on Friday night by nipping West No. 5 seed Vance 9-7 in the state 4AA high school football title game at Duke.

Wake Forest scored on a safety for the game’s deciding points, capping a 14-0 finish.

Vance finished the season 14-2.
