HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Hickory girls sidelined until Jan. 30

HICKORY – Hickory High’s varsity girls did not play on Tuesday night and will postpone three additional league games.

Red Tornadoes athletic director David Craft indicated the girls won’t play again until a Saturday morning game on Jan. 30 at home against McDowell.

In addition to not playing at Watauga on Tuesday night, the girls won’t play Friday at Alexander Central, next Tuesday at home against St. Stephens or Jan. 29 at home against McDowell.

Hickory’s varsity boys plan to play those three games as scheduled. They beat Watauga 72-61 in Boone on Tuesday night.

JV girls, 4:30 p.m.

JV boys, 6 p.m.

Varsity boys, 7:30 p.m.

TUESDAY, JAN. 26 (St. Stephens)

JV boys, 4:30 p.m.

Varsity boys, 6 p.m.

FRIDAY, JAN. 29 (McDowell)

JV boys, 4:30 p.m.

Varsity boys, 6 p.m.

SATURDAY, JAN. 30 (McDowell)

JV girls, 10 a.m.

Varsity girls, 11:30 a.m.
