Hayden Deal’s fifth start of the season is scheduled Wednesday night in Pensacola (Fla.) against the Blue Wahoos.
Deal (0-2, 4.24 ERA) is in the rotation for the Double-A Mississippi Braves, who are 12-13 and four games back of Pensacola (16-9) in the league standings.
He has thrown 17 innings this season, his fourth on the field in the pros, with 16 strikeouts, nine walks and three hit by pitch.
Deal’s sixth start of the year will depend on whether the Braves use a five or six-man rotation.
