The Mississippi Braves got back on the field after last having played on Aug. 24, and they won 16-8 on Thursday night at Biloxi (Miss.).
Former Bandys High star Hayden Deal got into Thursday’s game in relief. He was the third Braves pitcher, going 1 2/3 innings, allowing one hit, walking one and striking out one.
Deal has been primarily a starter for Mississippi. This was his 18th appearance and fourth in relief this season.
He is 3-2 with an ERA oif 3.90 with 328 walks and 67 strikeouts.
The series continues Friday night in Biloxi.
Mississippi is 59-39 and leads the Double-A South’s South Division over Montgomery by six games.
