HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM HOBBSDAILYREPORT.COM

DENVER, N.C. — Sending wishes for Happy Holidays to all the loyal readers of HobbsDailyReport.com.

Myra and I send our heartfelt thanks to those who have welcomed our new sports website and who have encouraged us as a start-up website designed to give local sports fans in the Greater Hickory area a place that truly does give you daily sports coverage.

We launched the website in April, and it has continued to be visited by more and more sports fans. Thank you.

We’re moving forward into a new year with basketball coverage, then spring sports coverage that will complete my 43rd consecutive year on the high school sports beat in the region… hoping to do at least two more years before considering retirement, as 45 years is a long time to focus on one thing.

High hopes for a better 2018, as this has been a tough year for a number of reasons… being a “reduction in force” in February, then having an arm injury that slowed me down a bit and then tragically losing a brother this month.

Dedicating the next year to David James Hobbs, the younger of my two older brothers, and to working hard (and smart) to continue to produce timely and accurate coverage of sports in the Greater Hickory area. It’s what I do… just through a different avenue now.

Enjoy time with your family, not only during the holidays but every day.

Regards,

Chris Hobbs
