GOLF: Balls Creek Optimist tournament seeking door prizes for June event in Maiden

MAIDEN — The 19th annual Balls Creek Optimist golf tournament, scheduled for June 1 at Glen Oaks, is actively seeking door prizes and other sponsorships for the event.

The tournament is $70 per player or $280 per team (includes mulligans) and is a fundraiser for the club’s work with youth sports programs in the Bandys and Maiden communities.

A shotgun start is set for 1 p.m. – following a lunch at noon – and the format is Four-man Captain’s Choice.

There is a $400 prize for first place and other prizes will be awarded.

Tournament officials are looking for hole sponsorships: Gold at $400, Platinum at $300, Silver at $200 and Bronze at $100.
