Siemer, Colosimo shine again as Tigers win 64-29

CLAREMONT – Combining for nearly 490 rushing yards and delivering big 1-2 offensive nights for the third straight game, running back Corey Siemer and quarterback Jack Colosimo led Fred T. Foard High to another football victory on Friday night.

Siemer has 282 rushing yards and Colosimo provided another 202 as the visiting Tigers ripped Bunker Hill 64-29 in a Northwestern Foothills 2A battle that improved Foard to 3-4, 2-0.

Foard won its third straight game in a series it leads 23-16 since 1980 and won at The Hill for the first time since 2009.

Bunker Hill dropped to 0-7, 0-1 and has now been outscored 351-41 this season.

Siemer cleared 148 yards rushing for the third straight game and is rapidly approaching a 1,000-yard season (unofficially), with 672 of his 924 yards coming in the last three games.

Colosimo has 409 of his 569 rushing yards in the last three games (see stats below).

They combined for seven rushing scores against the Bears – Siemer scoring on runs of 7, 15, 12 and 3 yards and Colosimo breaking runs of 18, 78 and 25 yards.

Foard led 23-16 at the half and went into the final 11 ½ minutes still ahead 37-29 after Desmond Anderson ran 11 yards for a TD for the Bears.

The Tigers did the rest of the scoring with Siemer’s 12-yard TD run coming with 6:36 to play. About 30 seconds later, Colosimo ran 78 yards for a TD and about two minutes after that, he ran 25 yards for a TD. Jonah Heller’s 3-yard run with 2:43 to go, closed the scoring.

Colosimo, in his third season on the varsity, has five TDs this season of 68 or more yards – 88-yard kickoff returns TDs against Maiden and Bandys plus a 68-yard TD run in a victory at Patton plus his long scoring run on Friday night.

Raheem Carson led Bunker Hill’s offense with almost 80 rushing yards – 65 on a first-quarter TD run – and Anderson threw for more than 90 yards.

Carson’s TD run was the first of the season for the Bears, who now have three on-the-ground scores to go with two TD passes and an interception return for a TD and a safety this season.

Foard, 9-4 last season under head coach Derrick Minor, can even Minor’s record at Foard at 16-16 on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. when unbeaten and defending league and state 2AA champion Hibriten (6-0) visits Foard.

Bunker Hill faces another winless team, Draughn, on the road Friday at 7:30 p.m. and either Bears head coach Patrick Clark or Wildcats head coach Chris Powell will gain their first career win.
