Abby Walker of Fred T. Foard added for Tuesday girls’ match

GREENSBORO – With the addition of Fred T. Foard High’s Abby Walker, one-fourth of the West roster for the East-West All-Star girls’ soccer match will be from the Greater Hickory area.
Walker has been added to the 16-player roster for head coach Jason Dragoon of East Lincoln, replacing Helen Summerell of West Iredell.
Dragoon’s original roster included Lauren Hayes and Jess LaFrancis, teammates at Hickory, and Jenna Land of East Lincoln.
The girls’ senior-only battle with the East All-Stars is Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. at Greensboro’s MacPherson Park.
There are two players from area conferences in the boys’ match at 8:30 p.m. at the same location – Dilan Esperilla of Newton-Conover and Watauga’s Jair Alverez.
The soccer players are scheduled to report to Greensboro on Sunday, when rosters will be finalized.
The changes listed (see below) were through the end of the week, as released by the North Carolina Coaches Association (NCCA).
Both matches will be live streamed by HighSchoolOT (free viewing) via the website’s app.
