East Lincoln’s Dragoon coaching West girls in July 16 match in Greensboro

GREENSBORO – One-fourth of the 16 spots on the West all-star girls’ high school soccer rosters are players West head coach Jason Dragoon of East Lincoln knows well.
Dragoon tabbed Jenna Land of his own Mustangs, Abby Walker of Fred T. Foard, and Hickory’s Lauren Hayes and Jess LaFrancis for the West team.
The North Carolina Coaches Association (NCCA) East-West game is scheduled July 16 at Greensboro’s McPherson Park.
Land is a midfielder on a Mustangs team that went 15-6-0 overall after finishing 11-3 and second in the South Fork 2A.
Walker led Foard to a Northwestern Foothills 2A title (10-1-1) and to a 15-5-2 overall record and to the second round of the state 3A playoffs.
Hayes contributed 11 goals and four assists and LaFrancis had 12 goals and 35 assists for Hickory (16-5-0, 12-2-0 Northwestern 3A-4A), which shared a league title with Watauga and got two rounds into the state 3A playoffs before being eliminated.
Alison Vetteri of Corinth Holders is the head coach of the East girls.
