HICKORY – After rain postponed Friday night’s game, the Crawdads will play two games on Saturday against the Lexington (Ky.) Legends, starting at 3 p.m. at L.P. Frans Stadium.
Hickory will take the field, weather permitting, still in a first-place tie with Hagerstown (Md.) after the Suns fell 12-5 on Friday night at Lakewood (N.J.).
The Suns are 21-17 in the second half of the season and the Crawdads are 22-18, leaving them tied atop the South Atlantic League (SAL) Northern Division. Greensboro is 20-19 after defeating Kannapolis on Friday night, and the Grasshoppers are 1 ½ games out of first place.
Lexington is 53-55 overall this season and 19-20 in the second half, sitting 5 ½ games back of Southern Division leader Charleston, S.C.
The Crawdads are 49-61 overall — which includes going 23-21 at Frans — and Hagerstown has an overall record of 59-48.
The series against Lexington is four games, with Game 4 scheduled Sunday at 5 p.m., and the homestand continues with games against Greensboro on Monday through Wednesday.
