Kevin Wilson, whose love of football began on football fields in Maiden, is again a head coach in college football.

Wilson, 61, was announced Tuesday at the head coach at Tulsa University. He will leave a role as offensive coordinator at Ohio State to fill that position.

He previously was a head coach at Indiana and has spent 37 years in college football in key roles. He played college football at North Carolina after a sterling career at Maiden High.

Wilson will debut as Tulsa head coach on Sept. 2 with a home game against WAPB. The next Saturday, it’s at Washington, followed by a home game the next week against Oklahoma, where Wilson was offensive coordinator before going to Indiana.
