HICKORY – Catawba Valley Community College head women’s basketball coach Tisha England has scheduled a tryout session for Sunday at the Tarlton Complex on campus.
Doors will open at 10 a.m., and prospective student-athletes will be given a small tour of the CVCC campus.
Tryouts begin at 11 a.m., and they’ll last for two hours.
Players trying out should wear appropriate gear and shoes.
England, a prep All-American at Newton-Conover before a sterling college career at USC Aiken, will guide the Red Hawks for the sixth year next season. She also spent 2010-13 as a CVCC women’s assistant.
CVCC went 27-5 this season, including 20-2 in Region X, as England surpassed 100 career wins and was named the league’s coach of the year.
England asks prospective student-athletes to visit www.cvcc.edu and complete a recruit questionnaire.
