MEN’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Red Hawks battle Bryant & Stratton on Friday in road game

NORFOLK, Va. — Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC) will look to rebound from a loss when its men’s basketball team travels Friday to play Bryant & Stratton College at 6 p.m.

The game is the second in a string of three road games for the Red Hawks, who are coming off a 93-85 loss on Wednesday night at Patrick Henry Community College.

CVCC is 10-17 overall and 5-13 in Region X, and Bryant & Stratton is 18-9 overall and 14-5 in league play.

Forward Isayah Johnson paced CVCC on Wednesday at Patrick Henry with 19 points while guard Tyrell Oglesby added 17.

The Red Hawks fell behind early on Wednesday and were down 52-32 by halftime after Hafeez Anifowoshe scored 15 first-half points for the Patriots (13-12, 11-8).

CVCC rallied, outscoring Patrick Henry 53-41 in the second half, when Oglesby had 15 of his points.

Patrick Henry got 23 points from Tahkey Williams and 20 from Anifowoshe.
