HICKORY – The third annual Catawba Valley Invitational women’s volleyball tournament is scheduled Friday and Saturday at Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC).

Noon – Wallace State vs. Owens (Court 1) and Bob Jones vs. St. Clair County (Court 2)
1:30 p.m. – Catawba Valley vs. Pasco-Hernando (Court 1) and No. Virginia vs. Lansing (Court 2)
3 p.m. – Cape Fear vs. Owens (Court 1) and Bob Jones vs. Lansing (Court 2)
4:30 p.m. – Catawba Valley vs. Wallace State (Court 1) and Spartanburg Methodist vs. St. Clair (Court 2)

A 10-team field for the tournament, which has free admission at the Tarlton Complex, includes No. 1-ranked Owen (Ohio).
Other teams in the field are No. 12 Pasco-Hernando (Fla.), St. Clair County (Mich.), Wallace State (Ala.), Bob Jones (S.C.), Cape Fear, Lansing (Mich.), Northern Virginia and Spartanburg (S.C.) Methodist.
CVCC — ranked No. 17 in the country in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) — has won 14 straight matches since falling Sept. 2 to No. 16 Illinois Center.
Owens will play CVCC at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, their first meeting since they battled in a third-place match last season at the NJCAA Division II tournament in Charleston, W. Va.
The Red Hawks will also face No. 12 Pasco Hernando, St. Clair County and Wallace State.
