ALLENDALE, S.C – Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC) headed into weekend action fresh off a Region X-opening women’s volleyball victory over USC Salkenatchie.
The Red Hawks (4-2) won 25-8, 25-12, 25-5 on Thursday night on the road, were scheduled to play twice on Friday at the Pasco-Hernando Bobcat Invitational in New Port Richey, Fla., and are scheduled Saturday to play Pasco-Hernando at 10 a.m. and Kansas City Community College at noon.
At USC Salkenatchie, freshmen Siena Naotala and Sage Harrington led the way with five kills each while sophomore Na-Diea Atkins and freshmen Meredith Patterson and Rachel Delcamp added four kills.
Setter Macy Pope also made a team-high 10 assists and added seven digs defensively, and fellow captain Emily Williams had a team-high eight digs.
The Red Hawks have now won 113 straight conference matches.
