HICKORY – The new season for Catawba Valley Community College’s baseball team is now scheduled to open on Thursday.
The school announced Monday it’s changing the schedule for games against the Piedmont International junior varsity due to weather forecasts for the weekend.
The Red Hawks’ first games are Thursday at 3 p.m. – a doubleheader with both games scheduled for seven innings – at Henkel Alley Field at the Catawba County Fairgrounds (CVCC’s home field). The teams play a nine-inning game on Friday at 4 p.m.
