MEN’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Catawba Valley wins, off to 2-0 start

HICKORY – Catawba Valley Community College’s men are off to an unbeaten start after two games, beating the Limestone junior varsity 73-54 on Saturday at the Tarlton Complex.

The Red Hawks (2-0) got 12 points from Isayah Johnson, nine by Sal-Bey Young and eight from Quade Parks in the victory.

CVCC led 33-28 at the half.

Jordan Powell led the charge for the Red Hawks with six points in the second half, and Brandon Reeves and Zach De La Cruz added five points in the half.

Christian Miller-Caldwell and Aaron Lane-Scott each led Limestone with 13 points.

CVCC’s next game is Monday at 7 p.m. at home against Southern Wesleyan.
