HICKORY – Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC) opened its baseball season Thursday with a doubleheader sweep over Piedmont International’s junior varsity, winning 20-1 and 4-0 in seven-inning games.
The Red Hawks play their third game of the year — also at Henkel-Alley Field at the Legion Fairgrounds in Newton – on Friday at 4 p.m.
