BURLINGTON — Fifth-seeded Brunswick Community College (BCC) dealt No. 4 seed Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC) an 11-3 loss on Friday in an opening-round game of the Region X/Southeast District baseball tournament at Burlington Athletic Park.
The loss sends the Red Hawks into a consolation bracket game on Saturday at 4 p.m. against either No. 8 seed Southeastern Community College or top-seeded Pitt Community College.
The tournament is double-elimination and the winner earns an automatic bid into the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) World Series in Enid, Okla.
