CATAWBA – Bandys High head football coach Tom Eanes talks about the Trojans’ 42-28 home victory on Friday night over St. Stephens (video link below).

Bandys grabbed an early 21-0 lead, scoring twice on special teams play before having to run an offensive play against the Indians, and then had to battle back from a 28-27 deficit to win the non-league game.

Two late interceptions led to fourth-quarter scoring runs by senior running back Ethan Howard as the Trojans withstood a 236-yard passing night by St. Stephens quarterback Connor Williams.

Williams — who transferred to St. Stephens after having worked out at some point in the off season with Bandys to gain some exposure to the offense Eanes was changing to — threw for three scores ( all to Zach Lee), and Lee finished with nine catches for 214 yards.

Howard ran 20 times for 162 yards, leading the Trojans to 408 rushing yards as they had three other players with more than 50 rushing yards.
