NEWTON – Hickory Post 48’s home game against Cherryville in American Legion baseball on Friday night was rained out and rescheduled for Sunday night.

Hickory has two games on Saturday at the Legion Fairgrounds in Newton, facing Maiden at 1 p.m. and Shelby at 4 p.m.

Post 48 and Cherryville meet at 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Hickory originally had a Sunday game scheduled against Hammond, Tenn., but Hammond isn’t headed to the Hickory area due to a lack of players. The team was also scheduled to play Maiden and Caldwell County while in the area, but those games also will not be played.
