NEWTON– Jacob Black of Lenoir-Rhyne University repeated as the champion on Friday at the school’s invitational cross country match at Southside Park.
Black, a senior from Manassa, Va., won in a time of 25 minutes, 26 seconds on an 8K course. He finished just ahead of junior Corbin Boyles of LRU (26:09).
The Bears also repeated as the event’s team champion with 39 points with Wingate in second with 57 points.
LRU next competes in the UNC Asheville Invitational on Sept. 23 with an 8:30 a.m. start in Swannanoa.
