CATAWBA – Bandys High split a conference girls’ softball doubleheader with visiting Lincolnton on Wednesday, with the Wolves picking up their first Southern District 7 Athletic 2A victory of the season in the second game.
Bandys won the first game 20-10, scoring nine runs in the first inning.
The Trojans were up 9-1 when the Wolves scored seven runs in the fourth inning to pull within 9-8. Bandys answered with seven runs in the bottom of the inning for a 15-9 lead.
In the second game, Lincolnton had an early 5-0 lead and was up 7-5 when it added three more runs in the sixth inning.
Bandys dropped to 3-7 in the conference and is in sixth place, and Lincolnton (1-9) remains in last place.
League games scheduled Friday include Bunker Hill at Bandys at 6 p.m. and Newton-Conover at Lincolnton at 5 p.m.
