Zach Jarrett went hitless, striking out twice, and the visiting Durham Bulls nipped Norfolk (Va.) 1-0 on Sunday in Triple-A baseball.
Jarrett started in centerfield and batted eighth in the Tides’ batting order. His batting average dipped to .257.
He is a career .263 hitter as a pro and has played in 344 games.
The next game for Norfolk is Tuesday, the opener in a six-game series at Memphis.
The Tides are 24-32 and in sixth place in the Triple-A East Southeast Division — one-half game behind Charlotte — and they are 15 games behind the division-leading Bulls (40-18).
Jarrett was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2017 and taken in the 28th round.
