It was a tough Saturday night for Zach Jarrett.
Batting sixth in the Norfolk (Va.) Tides batting order in a home Triple-A game against Durham, Jarrett went 0-fo-3 and struck out each time.
Durham won 5-2 and plays at Norfolk again on Sunday (4:05 p.m.) to close a six-game series.
The Tides (24-31) are off Monday and then begin a six-game series at Memphis.
Jarrett, a former Hickory High and Charlotte star, is hitting .252 with six home runs and 20 RBIs.
He has struck out 61 times in 172 at-bats this season — once very 2.8 at-bats — and 365 times as a pro in 1,257 at-bats, once every 3.4 at-bats.
Jarrett started in centerfield on Saturday night.
The Tides are in fifth place in the Triple-A East Southeast Division, 14 games behind the division-leading Bulls (39-18).
Jarrett was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2017 and taken in the 28th round.
