Zach Jarrett is already showing some confidence he can hit in Triple-A.
Jarrett, in his second game with Norfolk (Va.), had two hits on Saturday night in an 8-1 home loss against Jacksonville (Fla.).
The series continues on Sunday in Norfolk.
The Tides will be off on Monday before beginning a six-game home series on Tuesday against Charlotte.
Jarrett started in right field on Saturday night with his two hits raising his batting average to .315.
Norfolk fell to 3-14 in the loss.
Jarrett was drafted by Baltimore after a sterling college career at Charlotte, and he was a high school star at Hickory.
He is the son of NASCAR champion driver Dale Jarrett and in his fourth on-field pro season (there were no minor league games in 2020).
