Zach Jarrett returned to the lineup for Norfolk (Va.) on Friday night, going 1-for-2 in Jacksonville (Fla.), where the Jumbo Shrimps won a Triple-A game 3-2.
Jarrett sat out the second game of a doubleheader at Jacksonville on Thursday night. He batted ninth on Friday and had a walk, leaving his batting average at .250.
He has seven home runs and 26 RBIs this season and is a career .262 hitter as a pro.
Jarrett starred at Hickory High and in college at Charlotte.
The series in Jacksonville continues with a game on Saturday and another on Sunday.
Norfolk is 31-48 and in sixth place in the Triple-A East Southeast Division, 21 games back of Durham.

Jarrett has been in Triple-A since a promotion from Double-A Bowie (Md.) on May 19, and he has twice been assigned to the Baltimore Orioles during his career (March 2019 and February 2020).
He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2017 and taken in the 28th round.
The Tides will return to Charlotte for a six-game series from Aug. 17-22.
