Zach Jarrett hit a home run for the second straight night on Thursday, helping Norfolk (Va.) nip Charlotte 7-6 in Triple-A baseball at Charlotte.
Jarrett went 1-for-5, batting third in the Tides lineup, and his sixth home run of the year was a solo shot in the sixth inning.
Game 4 of the series is Friday at 7:04 p.m., and Jarrett is hitting .290 and has 20 RBIs.
A former Hickory High and Charlotte star, he started in centerfield again on Thursday night before a crowd of 5,299.
Norfolk is 21-27 and in fifth place in the Triple-A East Southern Division, 11 games back of division-leading Durham.
Charlotte is 20-29 and in sixth place, 12 1/2 games behind Durham.
Games times through Saturday are 7:04 p.m., and Sunday’s series finale begins at 6:05 p.m.

Jarrett was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2017 after starring in college at Charlotte. The O’s picked him in the 28th round.
