After not playing on Friday and Saturday, Zach Jarrett returned to the Norfolk (Va.) lineup on Sunday.
Jarrett, a former Hickory High and Charlotte star in college, went 2-for-5 in an 11-7 loss at the Charlotte Knights before a crowd of 5,019.
He drove in two runs, batted seventh in the Tides order and started in centerfield.
Jarrett is hitting .240 with eight home runs and 31 RBIs this season.
He sat out a 4-1 win by the Tides on Friday night in Charlotte and Saturday’s 7-5 home win by the Knights.
Norfolk is off on Monday before starting a six-game series against Jacksonville (Fla.) on Tuesday night in Norfolk.
The Tides are 39-55 and in sixth place in the Triple-A East Southeast Division, 21 1/2 games back of Durham.
Jarrett has been in Triple-A since a promotion from Double-A Bowie (Md.) on May 19, and he has twice been assigned to the Baltimore Orioles during his career (March 2019 and February 2020).
He was drafted by the Orioles in 2017 and taken in the 28th round.
