Batting eighth in the order as the starting centerfielder, Zach Jarrett went 0-for-2 and struck out twice on Thursday night.

Host Jacksonville (Fla.) beat Jarrett and the Norfok (Va.) Tides 6-4.

Jarrett’s batting average dropped to .284.

Norfolk plays at Jackonsville through Sunday with Friday’s game at 7:05 p.m.

The Tides are 12-19 and in fifth place in their division, 10 1/2 games back of Durham and Nashville, who share first place.
