Norfolk (Va.) beat Jacksonville (Fla.) 4-2 on Saturday in Triple-A baseball, getting a hit, a run and an RBI from former Hickory High star Zach Jarrett.
Jarrett, batting No. 6 in the Tides order and starting in centerfield, went 1-for-4 before a crowd of 6,010.
He is batting .250 with seven home runs and 27 RBIs this season.
Norfolk continues the series on Saturday and Sunday in Jacksonville. After taking Monday off, the Tides start a six-game home series against Memphis on Tuesday night.
Norfolk is 32-48 and in sixth place in the Triple-A East Southeast Division, 21 games back of Durham.
Jarrett has been in Triple-A since a promotion from Double-A Bowie (Md.) on May 19, and he has twice been assigned to the Baltimore Orioles during his career (March 2019 and February 2020).
He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2017 and taken in the 28th round.
The Tides will return to Charlotte for a six-game series from Aug. 17-22.
