First-place Bowie (Md.) ran its win streak to five games on Saturday night with a 7-5 victory over Reading (Pa.) in which Zach Jarrett had a double.
Bowie downed Reading 11-5 on Friday when Jarrett went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs.
Jarrett, a former star at Hickory High and in college at Charlotte, started both games. He hit ninth in the batting order on Friday and eighth in the order on Saturday.
The series continues on Sunday in Bowie.
The Baysox are 8-2 and in first place, a half-game ahead of Richmond (Va.) in the Double-A Northeast divisional standings.
Jarrett is hitting .294 without a home run this season. He has hit 27 home runs as a pro.
Bowie is a farm club of the Baltimore Orioles.
He is the son of NASCAR champion driver Dale Jarrett and in his fourth on-field pro season (there were no minor league games in 2020).
