NEWTON – Senior Landon Scronce, who scored a touchdown for Fred T. Foard High in a victory over East Burke last Thursday night, is the Week 11 Oldies 101.3 FM WNNC Coca-Cola Golden Helmet Award winner.

Scronce battles Muscular Dystrophy, and he is on the Tigers’ varsity football roster and serves as a team manager.

Late in the Tigers’ 69-14 win, Scronce got into a game for his first play and went 56 yards for a score celebrated by both teams.

Foard’s regular-season ends on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in a Northwestern Foothills 2A game at West Iredell.
