HICKORY – St. Stephens High’s Indian Baseball Camp for rising second- through ninth-graders is scheduled July 9-12 at the high school.

The cost is $50 and sessions are from 8:30 a.m. to noon each day at the baseball complex at St. Stephens (rain site is the school gym).

Indians head baseball coach Adam Windham is the camp director, and other camp staff will include these St. Stephens coaches – Adam Severt (pitching), Eric Isenhour (bench) and Dillion Spencer (infield) — plus other former and current Indians players.

A release form signed and dated by a parent or legal guardian is needed to participate and available by contacting Windham at adam_windham@catawbaschools.net or by calling him at (828) 256-9841, ext. 376103.

Checks for camp fees should be written as payable to St. Stephens High and mailed to: Adam Windham, 3205 34th St. Drive NE, Hickory, 28601 and must include a completed application form.

The camp goal is to emphasis proper fundamentals in all areas of the game and instruction in hitting, throwing and individual position play. The camp also provides an opportunity for players to work directly with high school and middle school coaches in the St. Stephens area.

Equipment needs will be athletic shoes, cleats, baseball pants, t-shirt, hat, glove, bats and catcher’s equipment and a water bottle.

Gatorade and concessions will be available daily for purchase.
